Connecting BIAL to Bangalore city by rail
Presently, commuting to BIAL is both costly and long. A rail link(s) would help alleviate this problem. One just needs to upgrade, double tracks or simply create junctions to hold trains on the existing railway line connecting byappanahalli-yelahanka railway station line towards bettahalasuru railway station. New track of not more than 5kms need to be freshly laid. Infact, a junction closest to the airport on the bengaluru-hyd highway can also serve the purpose

Haralur Road
The road is too narrow and it needs immediate solution with the housing societies sprawling up. For short term, this can be made one way to ease up traffic and no entry for HTV in peak hours

Local trains in Bangalore
We never realize but Bangalore city and suburbs already has about 200 kms of railway lines currently in existence and also being operational. These lines run in all directions from the city center and are also quite well interlinked.
This existing infrastructure can be put to good use by running local trains like in Mumbai or Chennai. This will ease pressure on the roads. The only expenditure would be to build more stations enroute and buy new train coaches.
BMTC can help a bit by providing feeder bus service from railway stations to nearby localities.

Commercial Street
As a real commercial centre the pretty narrow street is mostly overcrowded with people, cars and two wheelers.
It would make perfect sense to make this street to Bangalores first pedestrian area and exlude the vehicles. -
sampige road
There is an empty plot next to Mantri Mall where the Mantri Mall Metro station is coming up. There is enough space for a multi-level car park here. Once that is built, the Sampige Road stretch from Mill Corner Road junction to Sankey Tank Road junction can then be closed to vehicle traffic and open to pedestrians and cyclists only. Buses which presently use Sampige Road to reach Tumkur road, can be re-routed to use Bellary road. This would help reclaim this street for people.
What Bangalore needs today is lesser gated communities and malls and more integrated communities. Integrated communities make a city, not isolated hubs of development.

Vidyaranyapura
The streets are never proper, so I’d like to repair it at the 1st thing. Also, the turning road at the doddabommasandra would be widened by demolishing the buildings nearby as if this isn’t done. if a single volvo passes through the whole road gets blocked.

Vishveshwarapuram
The Food Street or Thindi Beedhi as we locals call it should be made into a pedestrian only street beyond 7pm. Atleast on weekends. This would encourage the shops to put out tables and chairs and make it quite like the Chinatown food streets around the world and make it safer for everyone there.

Richmond Road
Foot Over Bridge for pedestrians to cross over. Traffic Lights have been tried before but they don’t really work as the traffic is heavy on this road

The tin factory bottle neck should dealt intelligently. there should be an alternative route for the traffic incoming from the hebbal and marathahalli.

Rajanakunte, Yelahanka, Bangalore.
When I moved from Boston, US to Bangalore I thought living in the suburbs would be similar to US. But after I built my house at Rajanakunte near Yelahanka I found that there were no facilities available. So I have locked the 7 bedroom mansion I built there and live in a small 2 bedroom flat in the city in Malleswaram with my wife & 3 children.
The issue is, if you are going to decongest the city you need to build planned suburbs with all amenities accessible without having to go to the city, as in the developed countries. For Bangalore this would mean building Ring Roads every 10km to circle the city along with Ring Railway Tracks. Radial Roads & Railway lines should connect suburbs to the city. Along with this should be power, water & sewage lines to create a self-sufficient suburbia consisting of Residential/Commercial areas, Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Malls, Shopping Centers, etc.
But there is no such planning of suburbs and hence Bangalore is bursting at the seams. It is overcrowded, polluted, congested, dirty and filthy. When will BBMP shed its myopic mentality and get the big picture?

I would like to see as city circular train connecting all the out skirts of bangalore.

remove the funny bridge near BDA and at cauvery theater, make it two ways and make an underpass like mekhri circle.

Cycle path especially from all Metro stations to a radius of 2-3 kms.
