pavements and road crossings
neat and even pavements meant entirely for pedestrians.
serious fines on all encroachment on pavements (including demolition where required). fines for all residents/establishments in areas which dump garbage on pavements.
I must say that there are pedestrians who are afraid of crossing the roads, because of the continuous flow of traffic which does not allow time for pedestrians to cross. This is so even at the signals as many tend to jump the signals. this must be enforced. Secondly , Zebra crossings needs to be provided at least at every one km on all roads where there are a number of commercial establishments, shops, etc. The motorists have to slow down at these if they find any pedestrian crossing the road. This will to a great extent help in removing fear of crossing the road in pedestrians.
