Pedestrians are the soul of any city. For a public transport system to work, we need to provide safe and comfortable footpaths and elevated or underground road crossings. Bus stop shelters must not encroach upon the footpath. Bus stops must have dedicated space with proper signage showing bus routes and time to next service. Curb cuts must be limited to one per building: cars must not be parked across the sidewalk along the full width of any lot.
Making Bangalore pedestrian friendly must be one of the top priorities!
