Hosur Road is one of the major connecting roads for public and private transport moving from City Junction railway station, Kempegouda Bus Station and Krishna Rajendra Market Bus Terminal in Bangalore Central District towards Sarjapur, Electronic City and Hosur Town in neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. The vehicular traffic during the peak and evening hours is very high. High levels of air and sound pollution.
Especially during weekends the situation becomes worse due to the fact that Madiwala Stretch of Hosur road is hub for private bus operators.
§ Sometime it takes 30 minutes to reach the Madiwala checkpost Junction from Bangalore Diary (1.2km stretch).
The Forum Mall, Koramangala is situated on this particular stretch which is one of the most preferred hang out in Bangalore. (Forum was Bangalore’s largest mall since opening in 2004 to 2010 with 11 cinema screens and had a parking capacity of 700 cars and 1500 two wheelers)
Christ University with a capacity of 12000 contributes majorly to the pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
